III. Dance Theater, based in Bern, Switzerland, was born from Eugene W. Rhodes III.’s desire to provide entertainment reaching a broad spectrum of audiences. It is not the mission of  III. Dance Theater to create a new style of dance, but rather to revitalize the experience of going to the theatre. The company’s intention is to bring joy and return pleasure to attending performance art. III. Dance Theater is a company devoted to combining various styles of dance, music and film. The collaborative process between Eugene and artists of all genres provides the company a strong foundation rooted in diversity. Based on Eugene’s experiences in the dance world, it is a priority for him as Artistic Director to provide a humanistic and healthy work environment.

Das in Bern basierte III. Dance Theater ist dem Wunsch Eugene W. Rhodes III. entsprungen, modernen Tanz einem breiten Publikum zugänglich zu machen. So will das III. Dance Theater nicht einen neuen Tanzstil kreieren, sondern vielmehr verschiedene (moderne) Tanzstile revitalisieren. Die Wahl der Musik und Elemente des Filmschaffens helfen dabei mit, den Gang ins Tanztheater zum Erlebnis werden zu lassen.

Dank enger Kooperation  mit den beteiligten Künstlern aus aller Welt verfügt das III. Dance Theater über ein breit diversifiziertes, starkes Fundament. Mittelfristig will das III. Dance Theater eine ständige Institution werden, welche Tänzerinnen und Tänzer mit Jahresverträgen verpflichten kann. Damit soll die Freie Tanzszene Schweiz um ein Element der Kontinuität bereichert werden.
